🔑 TMDB API Key
The add-on uses TMDB (The Movie Database) API to retrieve information about movies and series. You need your own TMDB API key to function properly.
How to get a TMDB API key
1. Go to the TMDB API page
2. Log in or create an account
3. Click "Request an API Key"
4. Select "Developer" and fill out the form
5. Once approved, you will receive your API key
The API key is a 32-character string containing letters and numbers, for example: 9f3d71bcae24508c1d72f5e47ab8d0a9
How to set up your TMDB API key
You have two options:
Option 1: Via Kodi settings (recommended)
1. Open the StreamBox add-on in Kodi
2. Go to Add-on Settings (gear icon)
3. Find the "TMDB Settings" section
4. In the "TMDB API Key" field, enter your API key
5. Save the settings.
Option 2: Edit the file directly
1. Open the api.txt file in the root folder of the add-on
2. Enter your TMDB API key (just the key, no quotes or other text)
3. Save file
4. Restart Kodi or add-on
Note: If you enter the API key via Kodi settings, it will also be automatically saved in the api.txt file for compatibility.

In the add-on settings you can edit:
- TMDB API key - see above
- Categories - default search category
- Sorting - how to sort results
- Filters - various filters for results (HDR, 4K, Czech dubbing, file size)
- Custom TMDB lists - ID of custom TMDB lists.
